High School

Introduction/Intermediate Strength & Power Training (Ages 13+)

MadTown starts all of its teen athletes here, regardless of their lifting background and experience. We often find that our style of training is a whole new beast for most athletes. This class adapts the training programs that we offer to our collegiate and professional athletes for our local youth athletes in a fun, safe, professional, and closely-supervised environment. We aim to help develop young athletes using varied movements that have been designed to improve their speed, power, strength, stamina, coordination, flexibility, quickness, agility, mental toughness, and nutrition. Athletes will also learn proper lifting technique, body mechanics, breathing, and body posture. This class is structured to help young athletes become champions, encouraging the development of a strong work ethic and a “champion\’s attitude”, as well as helping them to understand what it means to compete.

Advanced Strength and Power Training (Ages 13+)

This training program is the class that we want all of our young athletes to strive to reach. This group is comprised of top-tier local athletes who are college bound ... preferably on scholarship. These athletes are trained just like our collegiate and professional athletes. They WILL be one step ahead of their teammates and their competition when they reach their destination. Many of our former youth and high school athletes who have made the transition to college athlete train in this group as well!

Entry into this class is allowed by permission only. Athletes must be cleared by Coach Skipp or Coach Keysha.

Conditioning

Speed Development (Ages 13+)

Speed is one of the most valuable traits that an athlete can develop. This class is taught by former NCAA Division I track & field athlete and elite runner Keysha Benzing. Her Speed Development classes are predicated on her unique approach to a philosophy of “Run Smarter, Not Harder”. This dynamic program employs state of the art training techniques and tools designed to cultivate our athletes' speed and running efficiency through instruction on proper running mechanics, the different phases in running and sprinting (e.g., acceleration, drive phase, and max speed), proper force application and production, start technique, running posture, and, most importantly, what it means to compete. This class can be joined at any time due to the extensive progressions employed and is open to athletes ages 13 and up of all ability levels, from novice to elite. Keysha believes that running is a skill and, while there are individuals who are natural runners, ANYONE can be taught to be a faster, more efficient, and more explosive sprinter or runner.

Advanced Speed Development
